FAQs

01

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. However, in some cases you may be eligible to use your out-of-network benefits to pay for your sessions. If needed, I can easily provide you with a superbill that can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement. Session fees are due at the time of service, and you will be responsible for the fee up front, as well as verification with your insurance regarding any out-of-network benefits available to you.

How do I find out if my insurance will accept a superbill?

This information is best found by calling the concierge number on the back of your insurance card and asking about out-of-network benefits for outpatient therapy. In this conversation, they may ask for a billing code in order to give you the most accurate information. Feel free to let them know your first service will be billed under 90791 and subsequent services are billing code 90834.

02

What is a superbill? How does it help with the cost of therapy?

A superbill contains information about your appointment date, time, diagnosis, and the cost of the service to you. This document explains to your insurance provider what you are seeking reimbursement for. Your insurance will review this document and decide on rate of reimbursement to you, if eligible. It is important to note reimbursement and rate is dependent on your insurance provider and chosen plan.

Why do I need to be in Missouri for a virtual therapy appointment?

Great question! Since mental health therapy is a licensed profession, I am required to ensure my clients are physically present in the state I am licensed in. This means your sessions must take place in the state of Missouri. So long as you're present in Missouri at the time of session, I can see you virtually or in-person, regardless of where your home address is listed.
